As part of the Veteran-facing Services Platform (VSP) on VA.gov, I work to improve core features and enable other teams in support of the Digital Services @ VA. Primarily working with Ruby, Rails, Javascript, Postgresql, Redis, and AWS infrastructure.
As part of the Veteran-facing Services Platform (VSP) on VA.gov, I helped application teams deploy, maintain, and grow reliable systems that millions of citizens depend on in the modernized federal world. Primarily working with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and AWS technologies.
I continuously evolved entirely cloud based CI/CD pipelines and solution delivery via AWS and a cloud only tool set provisioned and maintained via infrastructure as code (IaC) in Terraform. I was responsible for availability, scalability, performance, security and transparency through monitoring, reporting, and collaboration. I was the lead on developer enablement through continuously evolving the architecture to accelerate velocity, quality, and recovery.
I helped develop JavaScript runners and jobs that were used to manage assets in Asset Management Systems such as Mediator. I led and helped move the engineering team to a Test Driven Development culture. I solely developed the TDD environment for proprietary software using tools such as Jasmine, Vagrant, Rhino.js, Jenkins and GitHub Enterprise. I developed a REST API microservice in Express.js and MongoDB to watch directories and make REST API calls when there is a file available to take action on.
I led and organized all Agile practices, managed a team of seven developers to launch a beta in 5 months written in Ruby on Rails, advised company on all major technical decisions, and I organized and orchestrated all architecture for the platform.
I was responsible for working with clients such as Disney Interactive to develop Wordpress themes and plugins. I used Node.JS, Polymer, CoffeeScript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to develop in-house product ideas and then deployed in-house projects to AWS using Lambda
I was responsible for developing a new frontend platform for Oracle Commerce using new technologies such as SCSS, Grunt, and RequireJS. I used test driven development, conducted code reviews, and worked closely with designers and product owners to develop new features.
I developed multiple applications in Backbone.js and React Native and provided development guidance, feature improvements, and frontend work.
I was responsible for developing and connecting new features to a proprietary server security suite using new technologies such as SCSS, Ruby on Rails, and thoughtbot's Bourbon and Neat SCSS frameworks. I used test driven development, conducted code reviews, paired remotely and in-person, and worked closely with designers and product owners to develop new features.
I was responsible for fixing and adding new features in a legacy web application written in the Kohana PHP framework. I developed a testing framework using RSpec and Capybara to test all features to assure that changes did not break functionality and deployed to server environments when tests passed on a continuous integration server.
I lead the effort in developing a mobile web application that mimicked the iOS application in all aspects. I used test driven development, conducted code reviews, and used agile development practices to deliver features in a rapid iterative pattern.
I developed a Magento theme using LESS that allowed the company to bring all website theming in-house. I setup and maintained multiple linux environments used for deployments, agile project management, and Ruby scripts to automate Data team’s workflow. I led a team of three developers and organized all agile practices within the organization.
While working with Robert Half, I worked with clients such as Intuit, North County Transit District, and CollisionSync to improve their businesses.
I was responsible for maintaining and updating all client websites with edits directly from the client.
I was responsible for leading internet marketing efforts by developing websites statically and using Wordpress.

I was responsible for all campus Information Technology needs, including developing the school’s Wordpress theme, deploying domain controllers, and building and repairing all student computers.
